Our Mission

The sole purpose of Abba’s Army is to raise funds for America's veterans in need. Abba’s Army is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2021 in our mother, Wendy Iadevaia's, memory.

A survey conducted in 2023 reported that 64% of American Veterans struggled financially to make ends meet in the last 12 months. Abba’s Army is a Rhode Island based 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2021 to provide financial assistance to local veterans in need. These veterans have sacrificed so much for our country and our mission is to ensure that no veteran goes without housing, heating, or food on the table. We also work with local contractors to assist with home accommodations for veterans with disabilities.

Wendy Iadevaia, was a kind, selfless and generous person and a steadfast supporter of veterans' causes, she was dubbed “Abba” by her many grandchildren.

Our mission is only possible because of volunteers, donations, and kindhearted people.

Our Work

David

"To the staff and volunteers:
Thank you, very much for building the wheelchair ramp at my cottage in Woodstock. I've  seen pictures that my friends have taken. It came out great. I'm due to be discharged from physical therapy in December.
My landlord just called me and said that you have sent her a check covering January's rent for the cottage. I never expected that. I am humbled.
Your organization is a wonderful asset for veterans in need. Again, thank you so much.  Abba is proud of you and her army."

"Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for your generous contribution of $1,850,00.  Our Foundation was started to honor the memory of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter who list his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers where he laid down his life for others."
